4 Foods that Accelerate Aging and Weight Gain
I want to share 4 foods that accelerate aging and weight gain.
One way to speed the aging process is to spend all day baking in the sun – like many people do in the Summer months. But even without excessive sun exposure, these 4 foods listed below will make you look and feel 10 years older than you really are.
And here’s a surprising fact: 98% of all agricultural land is taken up by these 4 food damaging foods! So please try hard to minimize your consumption of them.
Food #1 – wheat
When it comes to aging, wheat can actually speed up the aging process through substances called Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs), which are produced in high amounts in response to rising blood sugar levels.
And, as you know, most wheat-based products spike your blood sugar levels. When your blood sugar rises, insulin levels follow. And increased insulin leads to a greater release of IGF-1 which can lead to skin problems, among other issues.
Food #2 – Sugar
Again, another food (if you can even call it that) that you should try to avoid is Sugar. Similar to wheat, eating sugar wreaks havoc on your blood sugar levels, which increases your risk of type 2 diabetes, obesity, heart disease, dementia, and other adverse health conditions.
Replace the sugar with stevia or even xylitol if you need a little sweetness in your daily tea, decaf coffee, or other beverage.
Food #3 – Corn (and its derivatives)
Corn, high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), corn cereals and chips, etc… Other than the fact that almost all corn we have access to is heavily genetically modified, it turns out that scientists have discovered that the fructose in HFCS causes 10x more formation of AGEs in your body than glucose!
That means the HFCS you consume daily in sweetened drinks, and most other processed foods contribute to faster aging and weight gain in your body.
Food #4 – High Omega-6 vegetable oils
Minimize the use of these oils: canola oil, soybean oil, safflower oil, and sunflower oil. Excessive use of these heavily GMO’d, processed, and inflammation-creating oils is unhealthy.
Since they are high in omega-6 (in relation to omega-3) they create a cascade of undesirable inflammation inside your body. And inflammation has been associated with every health issue we know of, including dementia and Alzheimer’s. So, if you care about your brain (and your health), then ditch these processed oils and focus on the good ones instead… which include flax/fish/hemp oils, olive oil, and coconut oil (just to name a few).
